I’ve always been driven by the idea
of building a life on my own terms.

I was born in Africa and grew up in San Jose, where I learned early on that opportunity is something you create,
not something you wait for. I put myself through UC Berkeley with a combination of scholarships and summer internships, balancing long days of work with an even longer view of what I wanted my future to look like.
I started my career as a software engineer and eventually became a Senior Escalations Manager, spending over
20 years helping customers solve complex problems under pressure. That experience taught me how to listen closely, think critically, and guide people through situations that feel overwhelming—skills that translate more than you might expect into financial planning.
In 2005, I married my wife Shilpa, and together we’ve raised two incredible kids. By 2022, I reached a point where
I could step back and semi-retire, something that once felt like a distant goal. But I quickly realized I wasn’t done working; I just wanted my work to matter more.
That’s what led me to Redwood Money in 2024.
I’ve seen firsthand what financial independence can do; not just for your bank account, but for your time,
your relationships, and your sense of freedom. My goal is to help others experience that same shift: from feeling uncertain or constrained to feeling confident and in control of their future.
When I’m not working, you’ll likely find me traveling, staying active through sports and exercise, or deep into
a podcast that challenges how I think about the world.
Because at the end of the day, financial freedom isn’t just about retiring early: it’s about having the ability to live
a life you love on your own terms.
